My concentration is incorporating photography into simple line drawings. My first piece is a drawing of a larakeet with a photographed background. I decided to draw the bird because it seemed like a challenge to show color and shading of the birds feathers. I like how the actual bird turned out, but it frustrates me that the bird is smack in the middle and that the color on the bird didn't turn out how I planned. My other piece is of pansies. I have been missing paint, so I did some paint and college paper in the background. I also incorporated the pictures in a different way then I usually do. I like that I tried getting more creative and making my concentration interesting, but what frustrates me is how you can barely see the pansies. Overall, I want to continue getting more creative with my pieces because they are starting to get boring.

Wow that is some really cool art!

The detail on the parrot's feathers is really intriguing. There is some great line quality and texture in the feathers! Moving away from pictures of humans I think will definitely help to make your concentration more interesting. I'm trying to not say "I like it"... Yeah. On the pansy piece, there is a small problem with emphasis- You really don't notice the pansies very much at all. The background seems much more important than the image.
Annie! wellll these are really cool btw. the one on top i am enjoying the most. you have good perspective and COLOR in the bird. The angle you drew it at is very realistic. it looks spactacular. And even though the drawn bird is right in the middle, the other birds in the back BALANCE it out. NICE!!!!!!
The use of line in the first piece of the birds really helps show the texture of the feathers. I agree that maybe you should branch out, and your flower picture is a good point of reference because of the way you portrayed the photograph and incorportated it with the line drawing, while using different mediums and sizes.
i just realized i forgot to put the little <3 and then my name like i did on the others. so i thought i would leave another comment for it.

Annie - You are very fortunate that you found a media and an idea that seems to get you fired up. Line and line quality are definitely your friend. The bird is spectacular. The use of color pens was a good choice. Keep up the good work. Ms. McB
Your use of color and line in the first piece is really interesting. An easy fix to change the position of the bird would be to crop out the empty black space on the left. This would create a more interesting balance. I appreciate that you are trying to mix up your technique but the painting doesn't really connect with the rest of your concentration.
